Professor



Hanli Wang received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China, in 2001 and 2004, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from City University of Hong Kong, Kowloon, Hong Kong, in 2007. From 2007 to 2008, he was a Research Fellow with the Department of Computer Science, City University of Hong Kong. From 2007 to 2008, he was also a Visiting Scholar with Stanford University, Palo Alto, CA. From 2008 to 2009, he was a Research Engineer with Precoad, Inc., Menlo Park, CA. From 2009 to 2010, he was an Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellow in University of Hagen, Hagen, Germany. He is currently a full Professor with the Department of Computer Science and Technology, Tongji University, Shanghai, China. From May 2011 to July 2016, he was the Department Associate Head. Since December 2020, he has been the Deputy director of College Committee, College of Electronic and Information Engineering, Tongji University. He has published 170+ research papers including 40+ IEEE Transactions journal papers, and filed 50+ invention patents with 20 authorized. He successfully led or played a significant role in 20+ research projects, including National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Key Research and Development Program of China, Key Project of Science and Technology Innovation 2030 supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, Shanghai Innovation Action Project of Science and Technology, Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University of China, “Shu Guang” project of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and Shanghai Education Development Foundation, Program for Professor of Special Appointment (Eastern Scholar) at Shanghai Institutions of Higher Learning, Shanghai Pujiang Program, Alexander von Humboldt Foundation of Germany, RGC General Research Fund (GRF) of Hong Kong, etc. His current research interests include computer vision, multimedia signal processing, machine learning. He is an IEEE senior member, a member of Humboldt Foundation, an Outstanding member of Chinese Computer Federation (CCF) and a life member of Asia-Pacific Signal and Information Processing Association (APSIPA).

Assistant Professor



Zhangkai Ni is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Technology at the Tongji University. He obtained his Ph.D. degree (Oct. 2021) in Computer Science from the City University of Hong Kong under the supervision of Prof. Sam Tak Wu KWONG (IEEE Fellow). From Oct. 2021 to Dec. 2021, he was a Postdoc with the Department of Computer Science, City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong. From Jul. 2017 to Jul. 2018, he was a research associate with the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He successfully led or played a significant role in various research projects, including National Natural Science Foundation of China, Shanghai Leading Talents (Overseas), Shanghai Pujiang Program, etc. He was the recipient of the Outstanding Master Degree Thesis of the Chinese Institute of Electronics. His research interests include computer vision and image processing, particularly generative modeling, unsupervised learning, image/video restoration, image/video enhancement, and image/video quality assessment.
